Name: Akita Winslow
Occupation: librarian's assistant
Physical description: Akita is the darkest of her sisters and has a slender figure despite her round, apple-cheeked face. She's tall and skinny, with a prominent collarbone, and keeps her hair cropped close to her scalp, accentuating her arched eyebrows, broad nose, and long ears. Normally, she maintains a stiff, straight posture, shoulders back and chin up, and her gait is brisk and orderly, her elbows held close to her sides. The scratch on her arm should have faded long ago, but curiously, it has remained there as a scar.
In her wolf form, she takes on the appearance of a lanky, tawny-brown wolf in adolescence.
History: The fight was an anomaly. Akita has always been quiet and introverted, drawn to reference books more than people, and so her parents were surprised when she came home scratched up from an altercation with another girl who apparently took offense to the library rules.
Less than a month later, she woke up with chills and couldn't sleep. Compelled to get outside, she left her bed, stuffed her feet in her shoes, threw on a jacket, and wandered out of the house, walking until she hit the woods. The light of the full moon showed the way.
She woke up next morning with little memory of what had happened and a strange taste in her mouth. It didn't take her long to figure out what was happening. The bigger question hanging over her head, though, was what to do about it. She's tried to manage her transformations, but it's difficult, and she needs someone to teach her -- or at least learn alongside her. She wears cheaper clothes these days because she keeps tearing through them, an expense constitutes one of the many of her least favorite parts of being a wyfwolf. At a loss for how to acquire the skill, Akita wants to become the kind of shifter who can maintain control during and after a transformation and hopes, one day, to be able to sleep through the night of the full moon.
Her parents took to the revealing of her orientation just fine, better than she'd hoped, even, but she still doesn't know how to tell them what's been happening to her and where she's been going at night. They just think she's just gotten a wilder social life and has been out partying. As much as she dislikes crowds, Akita can only wish that were true.
