I do look after them all as best I can, yeah. They are more like good friends than pets :)
It clearly must be a chestnut thing with the mad behaviour. Eeep, founder is never a good thing. Is she just really, really good at putting weight on or is there some underlying problem? There is one mare at the farm that we just could not get the weight off, but after some bloodwork the vet found out that she had an issue with her pituitary gland. She's on medication for it now and it's helping to keep her weight much more stable.
I am glad to hear that. It's tough sometimes, when you know there's something wrong but you can't quite work out what. I hope her diet and exercise helps her start to turn it around, especially with spring (and the richer grass it brings) looming on the horizon.
If they are allowed to get used to it from a young age most of them are okay with it. Mine are rescues (as are all my animals) and two of them are okay with it but Jayne, the biggest male, can get grumpy sometimes and so I only handle him every so often.
And my horse is an Irish Sports Horse gelding called Tali. He's hyperactive, tough to handle, tough to keep weight on and I'm certain he has dissociative identity disorder, but I love him dearly. He's not at his best in this picture, but it's the only one I have of him on this computer.
i have to ask. did you name your pets after fictional characters?
My snakes and ferrets yes. The snakes are Jayne, River and Wash. The ferrets are Zim and Gir. Tali came with his name; it's a shortening of his fancy registered showing name. But I have since learned that it is also a Mass Effect character, so I guess he counts by default, haha.
aaaaaah. i didn't know about jayne (i had suspicions, tho, since that's a not too common spelling) but my fandom senses were tingling at tali. since, well, kind of a mass effect dork oops.
i am very jealous of your partial cast of firefly tho. or, well, being able to name pets after them. i kind of claim partial ownership of my parent's dogs, and didn't really get a say in naming them ahah. also, for future reference, i sometimes make cruel jokes about wash to hunter because wash died. i'm that friend. i apologize in advance!
I have actually never played Mass Effect but I have always meant to. Like so many other games (and movies and TV series) it's one of those that has long been on my 'one day' list, but sadly that day seems to be really taking its time to come around.
My partial cast of Firefly are all awesome and have all come along remarkably considering they are all rescues. I did have Inara too, but she passed away a few months ago. Also - you are outnumbered. I too will flail over the cruel jokes, because Wash was always my favourite. I cry every single time I watch that movie.
ugh, i get what you mean. i have like a priority list of games, it seems, and all the ones i reaaaaaaaally want to play don't come out until later this year. what're your favorites, if you don't mind me asking? c:
i love rescues. they're so lovely. and i'm sorry about inara. :c wash will forever be my favorite, i think. like everyone else is wonderful and lovely and beautiful and wow but man wash.
I mainly play PC games, some of my faves being Neverwinter Nights, Hellgate London, Dungeon Siege, Diablo (the first one only!) and Dungeon Keeper. I keep trying to get into Skyrim but haven't really been able to so far. I will admit, sometimes I do love just playing the Sims and coming up with creative new ways to kill them all...
Yeah, the entire character set on Firefly/ Serenity was so beautifully put together. Even the bad guys (like Niska) were so brilliantly created that I was itching to see more of them. But... yeah. Wash. He had me from the toy dinosaur fight.
i agree on the sims. tho i usually, like, make them have a million kids before killing them off because then they're always unhappy and it's funny to see them waving their arms around in frustration. i actually accidentally killed a sim the other day and idk how it happened? all i know is that she layed down, like two days into the game, and died. also yeah, skyrim and the other elder scrolls games are kind of hard to get into at first. especially for me since i don't really like open world maps like that. too much to do so little time and the dungeons are huge. i've been meaning to play diablo, actually. it's on my to-do list. is it good?
he had me there too. especially because i love dinosaurs. and i was just. grown man. playing with dinosaurs. being clever. marry me. and i think i should have learned the lesson that all my favorite fictional people die, but nope.
I tend to try to avoid kids in the sims, mainly because they just irritate me. One of my favourite ever sim moments was when I made a neurotic pyromaniac kleptomanic. I just let him get more and more miserable, and then one day he snapped while playing chess with himself. He broke the chess table, set the shower on fire and stole his own motorbike. To this day I am so, so sad I wasn't recording that. It was beautiful.
The original Diablo is one of my favourite ever games and probably the one I re-play most often. The gameplay was WELL ahead of its time and the story was engaging, with the quest spawnings being random enough that it was always worth replaying it. The second one I found massively disappointing because it just felt too much like every other game out there. I haven't even attempted the third.
Dinosaurs are massively awesome. I went to see the Walking With Dinosaurs movie that's out at the moment, and even though the movie itself SUCKED I still enjoyed it because pretty dinosaurs.
And yeaaaah... As a fan of both Doctor Who and Game of Thrones I should have well learned that lesson by now too. But nope.
kids irritate sims too, so i guess that's their only purpose. xD and dear god that sounds beautiful i think i will have to make a household of them just to see what happens. can sims light each other on fire?
i'll have to try it then! c:
i saw the previews to that movie and i got kind of excited because dinosaurs, which is kind of saying a lot. i've been thinking of tricking some of my friends to see it with me so i don't look too big a loser watching it but i don't know if i could even get away with it.
oh man game of thrones. i don't think i've known real pain until i started watching game of thrones. says as i'm wrapped in a house targaryen blanket.
It was so beautiful. As far as I know they can't set each other on fire, but if one of them is a pyro it's only a matter of time until there is very little house left that isn't charred.
I went to see it on my own, as I do with most movies. I saw Frozen on my own; mid-20's woman in a theater full of kids was kinda odd but I am long past the point of caring, haha! It is worth watching just for the pretty (which does include Karl Urban).
Game of Thrones is just... staggering. Everything about it is so amazingly done that my jaw is on the floor all the way through each and every episode. *snug and warm in my House Baratheon hoodie, drinking hot chocolate from my House Greyjoy mug*
Hi y'all. I'm Atratus, Atra for short. Or you can call me Jacqui (my real name). I'm 18, freshman in college in Massachusetts. I've been rolplaying for about.... 5 years now? Started and continuing with proboards. Always fantasy stuff with a few animal ones thrown in there.
I study biology, play a lot of video games, ride horses whenever I can (East Coast champion for western riding in the Arab Association right here), do college, and live my life as full as I can. I love nature and animals. I'm from a tiny town in CT but now I live in a city in Mass in an apartment with my sister and my Ball Python, Gryphon.
And here's a picture of my in case you're curious.

Hunter: Well hello Shatteredverse. And huh, that's strange, Azure. I'm not sure what that could be from.
Mar 5, 2014 0:29:29 GMT
Azurelle: Positive. I only use one password for these proboard accounts, and 2 usernames. Besides, it doesn't tell me I entered things wrong. It redirects me to the home page but I'm still not logged in.
